The Ratcliff Branded Bull - Forage Developed and Range Ready
• Ratcliff Ranches spring sale bulls are developed on a 160 acre grass trap. The bulls are fed 3% of their body weight with the total ration consisting of ground grass hay, ground alfalfa hay and other limited distillers. For 100 days these bulls were slowly developed. After ultrasound data was collected, the bulls returned to Vinita and were turned out on dormant Bermuda grass on a large creek bottom. During this period, they were only fed 16% protein lick tubs. In mid January, the bulls are brought back to the ranch headquarters in Vinita where they were sorted into sire groups and fed 1.5% of their body weight of a dairy heifer development ration from Mid America feed in Talala, Oklahoma. They are also fed free choice prairie hay. Proper development of our bulls is one of the best customer service programs we can offer.
